"I'm eating so much on this trip. I'll diet when I get home."

Updated: Oct 2, 2018

I'm wondering what you feel when you read these quotes. Do they sound familiar?

I made this image after going through my old journals. I remember the urgency of wanting to lose weight, feeling so much discomfort from bingeing, then vowing to stop, only to overeat again on the exact foods I said I wouldn't.

What I see now in these quotes is that my intense desire to lose weight as soon as possible was the thing that was preventing me from making peace with food. I was at war with food simply because I demanded perfection out of my attempts to eat well, and fell into binges the minute I crossed that invisible line into "I've blown it now" land.

Do you know what I mean? Do you hold yourself to super high standards when you're trying to 'eat well' and then go for it when you've "blown it" and eat everything just so you don't have to think about it again? Do you set goals around your weight even though you don't actually take any new action to get there? Do you feel kind of crazy around food and wonder why no one else seems to have this issue?

In those journal pages I was riding on hopes and dreams and wishes that binge eating would just stop one day miraculously. I'm guessing you have that hope too.

I eventually got there- 2 years after I first committed myself to end binge eating. That commitment was different than any other attempt. It was when I finally knew that  if I wanted different results I was going to have to do things differently.

Maybe you would also take 2 years to heal. Or maybe 3. But I hope you don't. I hope you don't spend any more time than you already have in the pain and frustration of binge eating. I hope you understand the value of following in the footsteps of those who have gone before you.

You don't need to reinvent the wheel, or spend hours studying and reading everything about neuro-chemicals and how the brain responds to food, like I have. You don't have to figure out how our survival mechanisms work, or how to manage your mind so that you support yourself on the body, mind and spirit level in your healing. I've got it all waiting for you. All you have to do is take the next step.

If you're ready, I invite you to book a free discovery call with me.

There we can talk about what your specific struggles are, and if my one-on-one or group program would get you the results you're looking for. I hope to hear from you.
